General Job Profile and Core Accountabilities
In this role, you will provide guidance to ground employee business partners and the enterprise on the application and interpretation of the IAM and IBT Collective Bargaining Agreements. You will regularly advise on investigations, discipline, settlements, grievances, and other matters involving our IAM and IBT represented employees. You will also participate in preparing, presenting and hearing grievance cases at the IBT System Board of Adjustment, as well as supporting our Arbitration team with case preparation for Arbitration. Additionally, you will assist with the negotiation and implementation of IAM and IBT Agreements, and other projects as assigned.
Has knowledge and an understanding of unions and labor environments
Drafts grievance responses, disciplinary letters, settlements, and other related correspondence
Participates on Disciplinary Review Panel for employee groups represented by IAM and IBT CBA(s)
Prepares and delivers Labor Relations training, and monitors the interpretation and application of contracts
Supports policy awareness on initiatives related to labor and employment
Supports compliance for represented employee group(s) for routine cases
Helps execute activities surrounding arbitration dockets and serves as company representative at arbitration hearings, mediation, and other dispute resolution processing
Supports internal team and business units in dispute resolution process
Communicates and develops positive relationships with local union officials
