Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead the financial operations of our organization in Cleveland, Ohio. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of financial reporting, analysis, and planning, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and supporting strategic decision-making. This role requires a proactive leader who can collaborate across departments to drive financial performance and deliver results.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and oversee the creation of accurate financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
• Provide quantitative analysis and financial guidance to support decision-making across various departments.
• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Develop and implement financial strategies to evaluate and mitigate the financial impact of business decisions.
• Manage general ledger functions and ensure all financial records are maintained accurately.
• Collaborate in a matrix-style organizational environment, fostering teamwork and guiding teams toward common goals.
• Utilize accounting software and tools such as Oracle, Cognos, Power BI, and Office Suite to streamline processes and improve reporting.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, providing actionable insights.
• Ensure the security and confidentiality of financial data and comply with organizational policies.
• Address financial changes in projects throughout their lifecycle, offering timely and accurate financial updates.
• Minimum of 5 years of combined accounting and finance experience.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller with a strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
• Expertise in financial reporting, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP is required. Oracle, Cognos, Power BI, or similar tools also preferred.
• Advanced skills in Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong leadership and team collaboration skills in a matrix organizational structure.
• Ability to perform complex financial analyses and provide actionable recommendations.
• Experience in production and project-based business environments preferred.
