Principal Technical Architect

Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Principal Technical Architect to lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge IT infrastructure solutions in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will provide technical leadership and ensure the delivery of scalable, secure, and innovative infrastructure across on-premises, private, and hybrid cloud environments. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with diverse teams and make a significant impact on enterprise-level architecture.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement secure, scalable infrastructure solutions across on-premises, private, and hybrid cloud platforms, including Azure and AWS.

• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for Managed IT Services clients and infrastructure projects.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver contracted services while meeting customer SLAs and business requirements.

• Drive the adoption of infrastructure security best practices, including identity management, encryption, and compliance standards.

• Conduct detailed technical assessments of client environments to recommend enhancements in performance, scalability, and security.

• Oversee project handoffs to operational teams, ensuring thorough documentation and monitoring readiness.

• Act as the senior escalation point for complex infrastructure and security incidents, leading troubleshooting and resolution efforts.

• Maintain and update architectural documentation, configuration standards, and system diagrams.

• Advise clients on technology roadmaps, cloud migration strategies, and modernization initiatives.

• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations to support critical infrastructure needs.• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Over 10 years of progressive IT infrastructure experience, including 3–5 years in a senior architecture or lead engineering role.

• Proven expertise in designing and managing infrastructure projects from concept to completion.

• Hands-on experience with Azure and hybrid cloud architecture, as well as enterprise application support.

• Proficiency in enterprise networking, storage, and compute technologies.

• Strong familiarity with VMware technologies, including vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.

• Preferred certifications include Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, and VMware Certified Specialist.

• Experience scripting and automating tasks using tools like PowerShell or Bash.
