Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This is a Contract-to-permanent position, offering you the opportunity to grow your skills while contributing to the daily financial operations of our organization. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of accounting principles and a willingness to learn specialized systems and processes.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
• Perform bank reconciliations and other routine financial tasks to maintain accurate records.
• Support the preparation of financial reports and documentation for internal and external use.
• Utilize QuickBooks and Proliant software to enter, update, and manage financial data.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Help maintain organized records of invoices, receipts, and other financial documents.
• Provide general administrative support to the accounting department as needed.
• Learn and apply company-specific accounting processes under the guidance of senior staff.
• Address financial discrepancies by gathering and analyzing relevant information.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the accounting team.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks; experience with Proliant is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site environment.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience is preferred, but recent graduates with accounting knowledge are encouraged to apply.
