The Financial Analyst reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Financial Analyst is responsible for recording transactions, performing analysis activities, and evaluating trends and drivers at Northwestern Medicine. The position will also be charged with the preparation and some review activities related to the month end close process; as well as support for the annual financial statement audit. The analyst will need to understand complex financial concepts in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Assists in the identification and analysis of relationships between Finance Transformation & Tech Department metrics and business objectives.
Supports the collection, organization, and analysis of financial data to ensure timely, accurate, and relevant information.
Contributes to benchmarking activities by utilizing available internal and external tools to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement.
Collaborates with team members and departments to assist in the integration and functionality of financial systems and technology solutions.
Participates in workshops and training sessions to gain a comprehensive understanding of finance transformation technologies and processes.
Assists in the research and evaluation of financial technologies or tools that align with the organization’s goals.
Maintains proficiency in MS Excel, Access, and reporting tools to facilitate data reporting and analysis, while learning to utilize data visualization technologies like Power BI.
Eagerness to Learn: A proactive attitude toward learning new skills, technologies, and methods that facilitate finance transformation
Stays informed of industry trends and best practices related to finance transformation and technology through continuous learning.Qualifications
Required:
Degree in Finance / Accounting or related field
3+ years of relevant experience
Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical, and accounting skills
High level of precision and attention to detail
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred:
Robotic process automation experience
Experience with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, preferably PeopleSoft
Healthcare finance experience
