Our goal is to deliver a time-critical roadmap, bring outstanding customer value, and drive innovation across our brands—Scania, MAN, INTERNATIONAL, and Volkswagen Truck & Bus. This transformation will strengthen our competitiveness and position Group R&D as a key business partner within TRATON Group.
We are now looking for a passionate Release Train Engineer (RTE) to join us on this exciting journey and help shape the future of Group R&D.
Position Details
What kind of position/job is this? This is a full-time/permanent position within the TRATON Group R&D
Where is the job located? The role offers the flexibility to be based in any of the locations where the Group HR R&D organization operates (Munich, Nurnberg, Germany; Södertälje, Sweden; Lisle / Rochester Hills, USA); Resende, Brazil.
Who will I be reporting to? Functional reporting to Global Section Head, Platform EE Architecture, Thomas Strange (TGRESA), based in Södertälje
Your Role & Responsibilities
In this role as RTE, you will be a key member of the VCT Triad, working closely with our System Architect and Product Manager. You will also be part of our newly established Section Platform EE Architecture, collaborating with TRATON’s line organization and various other flows. A background in engineering/embedded development will help you excel in this position and maybe you have held a technical project management position or a lean-agile role within EE, previously.

Facilitate & Optimize our FlowOversee progress of backlogs and capacity to deliver quality outcomes on time. Actively identify and eliminate waste or obstacles that hinder delivery.
Coach & Empower TeamsChampion lean-agile principles and methods, guiding our Value Creation Team (VCT) to build an environment of ongoing learning, innovation, and high engagement.
Manage Risk & CapacitySpot potential constraints or risks to capacity early, initiating the right actions to keep the train on track and stakeholders informed.
Foster Cross-Functional CollaborationCollaborate with Solution Train Engineers (STEs), Scrum Masters (ScMs), and Line Management to ensure alignment, progress, and continuous feedback loops.
Drive Continuous ImprovementLead enhancements in workflows, ways of working, and team dynamics by sharing insights and best practices throughout the organization.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
At least 12 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
At least 6 years of experience managing technical professionals and technical staff in engineering and design activities
OR
Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
At least 10 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
At least 6 years of experience managing technical professionals and technical staff in engineering and design activities
OR
PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
At least 8 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
At least 6 years of experience managing technical professionals and technical staff in engineering and design activities
Additional Requirements
