Duties and responsibilities:

Utilize structural analysis software for design, such as: Leap Bridge Concrete, Leap Bridge Steel, Open Bridge Modeler, STAAD, SAP2000, etc.

Complete design tasks with supervision and learn to work independently

Coordinate the structural design with other disciplines and construction team

Become familiar with various structural standards and design codes such as: AASHTO, AREMA, and the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) guidelines

Compile data and perform calculations required for the preparation of drawings and design studies

Prepare cost estimates

Prepare construction documents

Collaborate with Bridge and Roadway Design Team members and all company disciplines

Conduct bridge inspections and assist in supervision of site investigations as needed

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with 2- 4 years of experience

OR Master's degree in Structural Engineering with 0-2 years of experience

EIT certification preferred

Intern experience preferred

Experience with GDOT projects desirable

Experience with MicroStation and/or Open Bridge Modeler desirable

Experience with LEAP, STAAD, SAP2000, or similar a plus

Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)

Availability and willingness to travel

All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Working conditions:

Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
