ECS is seeking a NIH/NIAID Director (Professional Services & IT) to work remotely.
The NIH Director is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the successful execution of client projects and driving business development across multiple Institutes and Centers (ICs) across the National Institutes of Health (NIH), with a focus on the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). This position requires a candidate with a deep understanding and recent knowledge of the NIH's enterprise and IC-specific ecosystems, to include IT landscape, research programs, key stakeholders, leading vendors, and current/ongoing modernization initiatives. Through the culmination of these skills, this role will effectively manage client relationships, identify and lead capture on new opportunities, and foster collaborative partnerships.
Responsibilities
NIH, NIAID and IT Expertise
Domain Expertise in NIH: Expertise and experience working within NIH and across its ICs
Knowledge of NIAID: Possess a deep understanding of NIAID's mission, research priorities, and specific IT needs related to infectious disease research.
IT Delivery Expertise: Demonstrate expertise in multiple IT delivery services, including app development, enterprise software engineering, cloud computing, infrastructure management, cybersecurity, AI/ML, and customer service support.
Regulatory Compliance: Be aware of relevant regulatory requirements and guidelines that apply to IT solutions within the NIAID context. Business Development
Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities within NIH/NIAID's research areas and IT landscape.
Relationship Building: Initiate and cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders across NIH and NIAID.
Proposal Development: Develop compelling proposals and presentations to secure new business and expand existing client relationships.
Pipeline Management: Manage a robust pipeline of business development opportunities, tracking progress and identifying areas for growth.
Client Acquisition: Actively seek out and engage with potential clients, effectively articulating the value proposition of IT solutions that align with their strategic and technical objectives. Client Project Oversight
Team Leadership: Build, lead, and manage cross-functional project teams, ensuring efficient delivery of high-quality professional services support.
Innovation-driven Business Development: Utilize on-the-ground innovations, delivery successes, and SME staff to drive and expand business growth within new areas across NIH.
Progress Tracking: Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions as needed, ensuring adherence to NIAID timelines and standards.
Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices throughout the project lifecycle, meeting NIAID's rigorous requirements for IT solutions. Qualifications
Over 15 years' experience in NIH and/or NIAID consulting leadership positions.
Proven track record of success in managing complex IT projects and driving business development within NIH and NIAID.
Deep understanding of the NIH's and NIAID's IT and research landscape.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships within the NIH community. Salary Range: $175,000-$200,000
