SESLOC is looking to fill a Risk Management Specialist position based out of our San Luis Obispo Headquarters.

Job Summary:

In the Risk Management Specialist position, you will support SESLOC by fulfilling needs in the enterprise risk management, legal and audit areas, including but not limited to answering legal process/subpoenas, administering notaries, assisting in internal audits and regulatory examinations, and tracking audit findings to resolution.

Key Qualifications:

High school Diploma or GED and three to five years' experience in compliance and/or risk management programs at a financial institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience including time spent in preparatory positions. Certifications in risk management, compliance, and/or paralegal work are desirable. Credit union or financial institution experience preferred. Candidates with similar levels of applicable experience and education in other industries may be considered.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of financial institution laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines.

Experience analyzing compliance and risk management controls and control testing.

Strong analytical skills showing an ability to collect, organize and analyze large volumes of data.

Ability to define a problem, draw a valid conclusion, recommend a solution, and implement changes regarding risk and internal control gaps to mitigate or eliminate risk exposure, and experience designing reports that effectively report on issues and trends.

Ability to effectively communicate information verbally and in writing to all levels of employees including training to a group of employees.

Ability to formulate and develop supporting documentation and express clear recommendations for action, as well as the ability to work collaboratively and make recommendations and move forward with the decisions of others with authority.

Ability to gain expert level experience with SESLOC's GRC tools and a moderate to high level of proficiency in Excel.
