Position Title:

Director of Maintenance & Security Operations

Reports To:

COO

Basic Function:

Plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, security, and proper functioning of RRCU facilities. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in both maintenance and security operations, who can lead and manage teams effectively to achieve organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

Maintenance Management

• Oversee the Maintenance Department as a whole, ensuring all maintenance activities are coordinated effectively and efficiently.

• Manage maintenance personnel, including hiring, discipline, training, and performance evaluations.

• Work with the Facilities Manager to coordinate maintenance activities for all facilities, to develop preventative maintenance programs and repair plans, ensuring they meet the highest standards of functionality and safety, while ensuring uninterrupted service to credit union branches and departments.

• Prepare and manage the budget for maintenance projects, ensuring cost-effective solutions and adherence to financial guidelines. Reviews and prepares for payment, utility and maintenance invoices.

• Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address any maintenance issues promptly, prioritizing areas critical to financial transactions.

• Manage and coordinate construction and renovation projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards. This includes developing detailed project plans, setting clear milestones, and regularly monitoring progress to address any issues promptly. Conduct through inspections at various stages of the project to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.

• Retain bids for construction projects by preparing comprehensive bid documents and soliciting proposals from qualified contractors. Evaluate bids based on cost, experience, and project approach to select the most suitable contactor. Work directly with contractors to ensure project specifications and timelines are met, holding regular meetings and site visits to review progress, resolve challenges and ensure alignment with the project goals.

• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards related to building maintenance, particularly those pertinent to financial institutions.

Security Operations:

• Serve as the credit union’s board appointed Security Officer, responsible for overseeing all security-related activities and ensuring compliance with board directives and regulatory requirements.

• Prepare and submit an annual security report to the board detailing security activities, incidents and recommendations for improvement.

• Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies to protect assets, personnel, and visitors, with an emphasis on safeguarding financial assets and sensitive information.

• Manage security personnel, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.

• Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services to enhance security measures and respond effectively to incidents, ensuring the safety of members and staff.

• Oversee the installation and maintenance of security systems, including surveillance cameras, alarms, and access control systems, tailored to the needs of a financial institution.

• Work directly with security equipment providers, sales and service techs to ensure the procurement, installation, and maintenance of security systems meet the credit union’s standards and requirements.

• Conduct risk assessments and develop plans to mitigate potential security threats, focusing on vulnerabilities in financial operations.

• Create and submit an annual security budget, ensuring all security-related expenses are planned, justified, and align with the credit union’s security program.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant security regulations and standards, particularly those affecting financial institutions.

• Adhere to all Red River Employees Federal Credit Union policies and procedures.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Security Management, or a related field, preferred.

• Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in maintenance and security operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably within a financial institution.

• Strong knowledge of maintenance practices, security protocols, and regulatory requirements, with specific expertise relevant to financial operations.

• Excellent leadership and team management skills.

• Ability to develop and implement effective strategies and solutions tailored to the needs of a financial institution.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficient in using maintenance management software and security systems.

• Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies effectively, especially those affecting financial operations.

• Will work both in office environments and on-site at various facilities.

• Role may require occasional evening and weekend work, as well as on-call availability for emergencies.

• Ability to meet, speak and deal effectively with people, being professional always.

• Must maintain a neat and professional appearance.
