The Electrical Engineering Team Lead will oversee the Electrical Schematics and Electrical Installation teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing electrical cabinets, wire harnesses, and grounding for electro-mechanical train components. This leadership role involves managing engineering capacity, ensuring project compliance, and fostering team growth through training and mentorship.
Key Activities
Continuous development and management of the Electrical Installation and Schematics team.
Manage work packages within project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Microsoft Office), ensuring accurate capacity planning and task allocation.
Preparation of installation drawings, schematics and production documentation with the team.
Working in PLM systems (SmarTeam, Teamcenter) and tooling landscapes to streamline workflows.
Change management based on feedback from production and in alignment with the Lead Engineer.
Facilitate the adoption of the current designs to American Railway Standards.
Creation/Optimization and establishment of engineering processes, guidelines, and work instructions.
Ensuring that the relevant electrical engineering work packages adhere to both cost and schedule requirements.
Collaboration with cross functional department (System Engineers, Mechanical, Project Management, Production, and Quality) throughout product development stages.
Lead technical releases of articles, 3D models, drawings, and associated documentation, ensuring adherence to project specifications.
Ensure all electrical installation, schematic and design activities meet company standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications.
Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering or associate's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical installation planning, preferred in railway or transportation industry
Knowledge of Catia V5 or other 3D-Modelling tools
Experience with Zuken E3, JIRA, and Smarteam/Teamcenter advantageous
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proven management experience within an engineering team
Familiarity with production processes and installation instructions
Ability to effectively function in an international working environment
