Manufacturing Engineer

Summary/Objective

The Manufacturing Engineer is a critical part of SIMONA Boltaron's tooling development team and focuses on statistical process control. The primary focus in this role will be within the extrusion department, then other departments as needed.

Essential Functions:

Investigate production and quality issues and work with production supervisors and machine operators to improve processes.

Solve technical and processing issues; suggest changes for equipment controls.

Coordinate production trials (new compounds, new material), evaluate the process, and share the results with the team.

Conduct capabilities studies.

Complete tooling trials.

Coordinate continuous improvement projects.

Required Education and Experience

Engineering or technical degree or equivalent education.

Plastics processing knowledge

Competencies

Possess high attention to detail, planning and organizational skills.

Possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with team and be fact and results focused.

Be hands-on, self-motivated, independent, and a strong team player.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment and manufacturing operations setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, in addition to manufacturing equipment and tools.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, salaried position, Monday through Friday.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day but may include customer or supplier visits.
