This is a critical role ensuring our restaurants operate smoothly, safely, and efficiently for our team members and loyal customers.
This isn't just an office job! As our Working Maintenance Manager, you'll be actively involved in hands-on repairs and preventative maintenance across our 20+ locations, while also overseeing the overall maintenance strategy.
What You'll Do:
• Hands-On Maintenance (Primary Focus): Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs on restaurant equipment, minor plumbing, minor electrical, lighting, and general building upkeep (painting, tiling, minor carpentry).
• Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement a proactive PM schedule to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Manage Priorities: Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests across multiple locations.
• Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships and coordinate work with external contractors when specialized services are needed.
• Inventory & Budget: Assist in managing parts inventory and working within the maintenance budget.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure all maintenance work adheres to safety standards and relevant regulations.
• Communication: Effectively communicate with Restaurant Managers and Operations leadership regarding maintenance status and needs.
• Travel: Regularly travel between restaurant locations within the Memphis and surrounding area.
What You Need:
• Proven hands-on experience (3+ years) in commercial maintenance, preferably in a restaurant or food service environment.
• Strong technical skills in minor HVAC, minor refrigeration, minor electrical, minor plumbing, and general building repairs.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage your time effectively, and prioritize tasks across multiple sites.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to tackle a variety of maintenance challenges.
• Basic computer skills for communication and record-keeping.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to lift [e.g., 50-75] pounds and work in various physical conditions (climbing ladders, tight spaces, etc.).
• Flexibility to respond to occasional after-hours emergency calls.
What Makes You Stand Out (Preferred):
• Specific experience maintaining fast-food cooking equipment.
• EPA Universal Certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Basic supervisory or lead technician experience.
• Familiarity with local building codes.
