Job Description
Responsibilities:
Work independently or with other skilled painters painting interior and exterior surfaces of residential and commercial properties.
Read blueprints and instructions
Mix paint and other materials to prepare for correct color or texture.
Apply varnish or other finishes
Instruct on site Painting Apprentice in job plans for the day. If no apprentice on site, make on site preparations:
Apply protective coverings, such as masking tape, to articles or areas that could be damaged or stained by work processes.
Prepare wall or other surfaces for painting. Fill cracks or breaks in surfaces of plaster articles or areas with putty or epoxy compounds
Need to be able to work extensively on ladders.
Set up scaffolding
Use sanding and buffing tools and equipment
Keep work area clean and free of hazards
Communicating with Job Supervisor
Maintaining high customer service standards positive testimonials
Attending weekly safety and training meeting.
Maintaining a positive attitude.
Requirements & Skills:
Previous experience in residential or commercial painting required
Strong knowledge of residential and commercial painting techniques
Solid knowledge of painting materials and how to select, mix and apply them
Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders, etc.
Aptitude in using appropriate tools, brushes, caulking guns, etc.
Ability to prioritize and focus on your current task
Willingness to guide / instruct Painting Apprentices
Willingness to learn and advance within the Company
Conscientious with strong attention to detail
Strong organizational skills
Customer service skills
