The Jefferson Hotel, Richmond’s premier luxury destination, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Assistant to join our Finance team. This position is ideal for candidates with a background in accounting or bookkeeping, or upper-level accounting students looking to gain hands-on experience in the hospitality industry. The Accounting Assistant will play a vital role in maintaining the hotel’s financial records, supporting audits and reporting, and providing exceptional service to guests and team members.Key Responsibilities
General Ledger: Track and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Financial Data Management: Organize financial data into clear, usable information for management and reporting purposes.
Reporting & Audits: Assist with audits, as well as month-end and quarterly financial reporting processes.
Administrative Tasks: Perform a variety of administrative duties, including filing, record keeping, and document management.
Guest & Team Support: Provide assistance to guests and other team members by answering questions and resolving issues in a professional manner.Qualifications
2 to 3 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, or currently an upper-level accounting student.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Hospitality experience is a plus.
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and willingness to learn new software programs.
Ability to perform filing and record-keeping tasks efficiently and accurately.
