Kendal at Oberlin's Sales & Marketing Department is seeking an outgoing and professional individual for a Sales Counselor position. Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, this ever important mid-level Sales Counselor will help achieve and maintain full independent living occupancy of the community, a healthy wait list, and a positive image in the larger community. By executing the sales objectives as outlined in the Marketing Plan, they will be responsible for carrying out all steps of the sales process from initial contact through closed sales. More specifically, the Sales Counselor will be responsible for including but not limited to:
Cultivating the ability to pre-qualify potential customers so that efforts expended are in proportion to their urgency and to their appropriateness for Kendal at Oberlin.
Assuring a timely and effective response to all leads generated by marketing activities.
Nurturing sales-qualified leads and building rapport with prospective residents, developing relationships.
Securing all necessary financial, health, insurance and social information needed.
Participating in the day-to-day operations of the team and office environment, creating and maintaining a team approach to the sales function.
Ensuring consistency and effectiveness for products, services, contract offerings, fees and admissions policies and process.
Utilizing CRM (customer relations management) software to insure complete and timely data entry for facilitation of prospect follow-up and the generation of mailings, and meaningful reports for ongoing sales and marketing analysis and planning.
Accepting and striving for personal baseline ratios for calls to appointments, appointments to sales, and calls to sales, then monitoring and managing towards improvement.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Three or more years sales experience with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and activity standards. Experience in a CCRC/Life Plan Community setting would be a plus.
Ability to achieve sales goals and initiatives.
Strong closing and post sales skills.
Demonstration of proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and CRM Software (Salesforce).
Self-starter enjoys working with older people, excellent listener, able to maintain confidentiality.
Professional appearance and demeanor .
Good speaking and writing skills.
Must be able to work 40 hours per week with occasional additional hours as necessary to meet all areas of responsibility, including occasional evening and weekend hours.
