Job Description
Qualifications:
Complete annual department & organization education & competencies in a timely manner.
Comply with all requirements within IL Administrative Code-Level II Trauma Center
Maintain records to demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples and sign the attestation statement on proficiency testing result submission forms when applicable.
Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the Laboratory's established performance specifications.
Communicate assessment findings to patient, family, and the care team.
Collect and trend trauma data and provide to Emergency Department leadership
Submit all required trauma data to IDPH within requested time frame
Complete special projects in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain confidentiality of all information.
Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Current IL licensure as Trauma Nurse Specialist in good standing
Minimum of three years of Emergency Department experience
Current licensure as a registered nurse in Illinois.
AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers - CPR
FEMA 100 & 200 certification within 3 months of hire
NIHSS certification within 6 months of hire
AHA ACLS and PALS certification within 6 months
ECRN certification/licensure within 1 year of hire
