Machine Operator: Freeport, Illinois

Our customer in Freeport, Illinois is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We’re recruiting Machine Operators to work full-time on 3rd shift. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of various machinery, maintaining safety and quality standards, and contributing to a team-oriented environment to meet production goals.

Responsibilities of the Machine Operator:

Operate and maintain various machines, including conventional, special-purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines.

Ensure the machine is running at the proper cycle time and verify the conformance of the finished workpiece to specifications.

Set up and dismantle unit assembly and subassembly workstations as needed.

Secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials for machining.

Organize and prioritize work tasks to meet deadlines, maintaining quality and minimizing potential issues.

Collaborate with colleagues to improve processes, promote quality, and ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

Machine Operator Requirements and Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; one to three months related experience or training preferred.

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.

Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure.

Strong logical and problem-solving abilities for carrying out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.

Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift materials regularly throughout the shift.

Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and communicate effectively with others.

Pay for Machine Operator: Starting at $17/hour.
