Summary

BioIVT is seeking a service- and team-oriented individual to join our Human Resources team as a Payroll and Benefits Administrator. In this role, you will be responsible for processing payroll, administering employee benefits, and providing exceptional support to our staff. The ideal candidate will have experience in multi-state tax jurisdiction set up and processing and a commitment to delivering outstanding service. Our preferred candidate will be proactive in improving processes, acquiring new knowledge, skills, and sharing the best practices relevant to the role and the broader human resources team. The Payroll and Benefit Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, administration of employee benefits and leaves of absence and ensuring compliance with all payroll tax regulations. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong knowledge of payroll systems, benefits administration, and federal, state, and local payroll tax laws.

The preferred work location is remote/office-based hybrid, Detroit, MI as home office.

Duties and Responsibilities

Process weekly, bi-weekly or monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Maintain and update the Human Resource Information System (HRIS); including employee payroll records, new hires, terminations, salary changes, and deductions.

Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k), and other voluntary benefits. Facilitates accurate and timely delivery of employer contributions and employee payroll deductions to carriers, plan administrators or other appropriate service providers.

Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll and benefits inquiries, providing timely and accurate information.

Monitor and coordinate all filings for all required benefit and payroll tax reports (federal, state, and local), including quarterly and annual filings (e.g., 941, W-2, ACA).

Reconcile payroll and benefits accounts, ensuring accuracy between payroll system, benefits providers.

Assist with set up, monitoring and resolving issues related to audits, payroll, benefits, and payroll taxes.

Partner with global colleagues to facilitate the administration of country-specific requirements.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent education and experience.

3+ years of experience in multi-state payroll processing and benefits administration.

Strong expertise in unemployment and payroll income tax registration, regulations and compliance.

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is a plus.

Experience processing international payroll a plus.

Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Ceridian, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.

A full-time Monday through Friday workweek with general business hours. This position may occasionally work evening hours.

Work location is remote/office-based hybrid, with Detroit, MI as home office.
