Montgomery College, Central Services Campus, has an immediate need for a FT Executive Director for Brand and Creative in the Office of Advancement and Community Engagement. The work schedule is 40 hours/5 days a week. This is a Non-Bargaining, Exempt, grade 37 position. The Executive Director for Brand and Creative:
Serves as the most senior brand and creative officer building engagement among students, faculty and staff, alumni, business, and community stakeholders. This role is responsible for launching and embedding the College’s brand, ensuring its successful implementation for maximum reach and impact.
Provides strategic creative direction and counsel to elevate and unify MC’s visual identity across all platforms—physical locations, digital channels, and multimedia communications. This includes the development and management of MC’s brand architecture, visual identity system, and storytelling strategy to ensure alignment with the College's mission and values.
Works collaboratively across the institution to guide the creative execution of integrated marketing campaigns that advance key institutional priorities, including the Strategic Plan, Transformational Aspirations (Access, Completion, and Post-Completion Success), Strategic Enrollment Plan, Academic Master Plan, Integrated Marketing Plan, and other high-impact initiatives. The Director also leads training and capacity-building efforts to ensure consistent and compelling brand adoption across all departments.
Serves as a senior leader within the Advancement and Community Engagement division and supports the Associate Senior Vice President for Marketing and Communications and Senior Vice President for Advancement and Community Engagement on key division initiatives, including brand development for the Montgomery College Foundation, the PIC MC Foundation, and the MC Alumni Association.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the in-house creative and production team—including full-time design, editorial, photography, video and multimedia staff, freelancers, interns, and student workers ensuring alignment with College and division goals.
Supervise day-to-day operations and project workflows to ensure high-quality, on-time, and on-budget deliverables.
Oversee employee performance, coaching, and professional development to support a high-performing team.
Manage vendor selection, relationships, and budgeting for the Brand and Creative unit of the College’s Marketing and Communications department.
Serve as art director for photo and video shoots to ensure quality and brand alignment.
Manage and approve College-branded indoor/outdoor signage and banners at all campuses, centers, and partner locations; collaborate with Facilities to ensure architectural and environmental branding is consistent and impactful.
Oversee merchandise branding and approval processes in collaboration with the bookstore and other College entities.
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement high-impact brand creative.
Lead cross-functional collaboration on integrated multimedia campaigns to support enrollment, community engagement, and fundraising.
Ensure consistent use of brand guidelines and visual identity across all College media and departments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Design, or other related field. Master's degree is preferred.
Seven years in progressively responsible higher education brand and creative leadership, including at least five years in a supervisory or managerial role.
The equivalent combination of education, training, certification and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and expertise to perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
Experience developing and implementing engaging brand storytelling that reflects diverse backgrounds and experiences of community college communities.
Experience managing budgets, administrative processes, and vendor relationships.
Experience managing and mentoring creative teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated expertise in multimedia design and art direction within a higher education environment.
Experience managing creative assets for a complex, multi-site organization with diverse audiences.
Hiring Range: $110,133 – 151,447. Initial salary placement for new hires falls between the minimum and midpoint of the range and is based on relevant candidate experience and internal equity. The maximum salary for this position is $192,761
