Job Description
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products and stability samples in accordance with all pertinent pharmacopeia monographs, DOPs and lab practices
Document laboratory activity in accordance with established procedures
Peer review data and associated documentation generated by other laboratory personnel
for compliance with departmental and standard operating procedures
Operate, analyze and process data obtained from the following analytical instrumentation including, but not limited to; HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-VIS, TOC and dissolution apparatus
Perform experiments in support of method development and validation with supervision
Performs general lab support activities such as maintain and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation, inventory of supplies and housekeeping
Validate, verify and troubleshoot analytical methods
Author or revise departmental operating procedures
Perform and/or assist with equipment calibrations and qualification.
Mentor other chemists on good laboratory skills and practices
Other related duties as required
REQUIRED SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 4-year degree in chemistry or related discipline.
4+ years’ experience in a chemistry laboratory
4+ years’ experience with analytical instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis, TOC).
4+ years’ experience in GLP or GMP environment
Ability to follow standard operation procedures (cGMPs, SOPs and DOPs)
Knowledge of MS Office suite of programs (Excel, Office, Outlook, Power-point, etc).
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; attention to detail
Ability to organize prioritize and effectively perform concurrent tasks with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to partner with co-workers and build rapport with other departments
Able to lift and move up to 20 pounds occasionally throughout the day.
