Salary:

Concrete Apprentice- This is a PERMANENT position with the company. We have built a talented and experienced concrete crew for a large Dam project in Semora NC. We are looking for candidates that are eager to advance in this career field. This project will have a duration of at least 2 years, 50-60 hours a week. We are looking for candidates that have some experience in one or more of the following fields: finish work, tying rebar, building and setting forms, placing slab on grade, general concrete related tasks.

Job Requirements:

For this role we are looking for a Concrete hand with at least 6 months to a year experience

Concrete Apprentices will assist in:

Following established finish grade during the pouring of slabs

Tying rebar per plan specification

Installing embeds and anchor bolts in accordance with plans

Setting string line for setting of concrete forms

Measuring, cutting, assembling forms, construct and erect/build in place prefabricated wooden/steel forms

Setting up and securing forms at correct location, leveling ground and ensuring forms are stable and aligned

Performing concrete placement and finish to include placing, finishing, curing, and cutting of concrete slabs

The use of the following tools: straight edges to establish grade, bull floats, float blades, combo blades, hand tools, sledgehammer, hand saws, power drills, saws, lasers, vibrators, walk behind trowels or riders, and had the knowledge when to use these tools at the proper time during place and finish.

Patching of voids and repair of concrete work

Dismantling, cleaning, storing or disposing of forms after use

Physical Requirements:

Must have the ability to climb, stand, sit, walk, reach around, bend, crawl, squat and kneel for prolong periods of time

The ability to lift/push/pull up to and not limited to 100 lbs

Working Conditions:

Work occurs on-site and will be mainly outdoors. Must be comfortable working in a changing environment that may expose you to hot or cold weather, loud noises, dust, and rain

Work may occur at heights and require the use of a ladder/manlift/scaffold/ or other mechanical platforms to access the working area

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times (safety vest, hard hat, eye protection, gloves, sleeves as needed, face shields, and appropriate work footwear are required
