Job Description

As a CDL Driver, you’ll play a vital role in delivering essential materials to construction sites, confidently navigating challenging mountainous routes. You’ll embody core values—safety, professionalism, and customer service—while maintaining equipment, mentoring junior drivers, and ensuring every delivery meets high standards.Responsibilities

Safely operate and maneuver large trucks through mountainous regions in all weather conditions (snow, rain, heat, and cold).

Deliver and pick up building materials to and from local construction sites.

Operate forklifts to load/unload materials and hand-stack or stage products as needed.

Maintain accurate records of deliveries, activities, and hours worked.

Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting mechanical issues promptly.

Keep trucks clean, presentable, and road-ready.

Adhere strictly to DOT, state, and local traffic regulations.

Plan efficient routes using GPS to ensure on-time deliveries.

Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client concerns and escalating issues to management.

Mentor and guide junior drivers to uphold company standards.

Report road incidents and follow accident protocols.

Perform additional tasks as directed to support team and operational needs.Essential Qualifications

Valid CDL Class A driver’s license.

Minimum 10 years of driving experience (negotiable with proven expertise in mountainous or rugged terrain).

Clean driving record meeting company standards.

Ability to pass drug, alcohol, and health screenings (medical certificate required unless exempted).

High school diploma or GED.Preferred Skills & Attributes

Strong attention to detail with a focused, distraction-free driving approach.

Deep knowledge of logistics systems and route planning.

Personable, professional demeanor with a commitment to outstanding customer service.

Physical stamina to handle loading/unloading and working in extreme weather.

Forklift operation experience (certification a plus).

Work Environment

You’ll drive distances through the scenic but demanding mountainous terrain of Western North Carolina, facing diverse weather conditions—from snowy winters to scorching summers. Expect to work outdoors, handling materials in temperatures ranging from extreme heat to freezing cold. Physical tasks like loading, unloading, and staging materials require strength and endurance.

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $63000.00/yr.
