Job Title: Fab Shop Helper
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Fab Shop Helper to join our metal fabrication team. This position is perfect for individuals with previous manufacturing experience who are eager to delve deeper into metal fabrication and industrial manufacturing processes. You will be supporting welders and machinists, and will eventually be trained to operate punch and press machines.
Responsibilities
Measure parts accurately using a tape measure and basic shop math.
Operate punch and press machines after training.
Complete documentation related to scrap or completed parts.
Follow instructions from supervisors, welders, and machine operators.
Perform shop cleaning and daily opening/closing tasks.
Demonstrate strong attendance, reliability, and eagerness to learn.Essential Skills
Previous manufacturing experience with a desire to work in a shop environment.
Reliability and a positive attitude, verified via references.
Proficiency in using measuring tools, including reading a tape measure and performing basic shop math.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and general production equipment.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with layouts, fabrication, grinding, assembly, material handling, and machine operation.
Ability to assist in welding and perform deburring tasks.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The work environment involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, as well as outside weather conditions, including extreme cold and heat. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to high. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday from 6am to 2:30pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Forest Grove, Oregon.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
