We are looking for an enthusiastic Sr. Manager, Annual Giving to advance the private fundraising efforts of Plan International through leading the child sponsorship and annual fund programs while partnering with other departmental team members to ensure a seamless donor experience. Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Integrated Fundraising, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to grow the organization’s annual fund and child sponsorship program primarily for donors at the $1-$9,999 giving level. The revenue accountability for this role is approximately $5M including annual fund and recurring giving programs.
Essential Functions:
Collaborate with the departmental leadership team to create comprehensive strategies for the annual fund and child sponsorship programs aligned with the organization’s mission, goals, and financial objectives.
Work with the Senior Director, Integrated Fundraising to establish revenue goals for the fiscal year and beyond.
Oversee all aspects of the annual fund, including donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship for single and monthly giving. Develop and execute targeted fundraising campaigns and appeals to maximize donor contributions.
Ensure implementation of the donor journeys adjusting as needed for optimal giving.
Implement effective stewardship practices to cultivate, maintain relationships, retain, and upgrade all donors. Working with the Director, Donor Services and Sponsorship to maintain, cultivate, and grow existing sponsors ensuring timely acknowledgment of contributions and regular communication to demonstrate the impact of their support.
Work across fundraising teams to identify new donors through omnichannel acquisition (F2F, direct mail, digital) and build strategies for engaging and encouraging donors to give at higher levels. Plan and execute steps for donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for annual donors giving unrestricted gifts to the annual fund.
Strategize, implement, and monitor the Her Defenders program, ensuring alignment with overarching fundraising goals and accountability for achieving $2M in annual revenue.
Provide support and guidance to colleagues involved in fundraising, gift processing, and donor loyalty.
Coordinate with the Director, Digital Fundraising on Giving Tuesday and other giving days.
Oversee Planned Giving communications, including the creation of compelling materials, donor outreach, and cultivation efforts, while managing and growing Planned Giving societies to strengthen donor engagement and legacy giving.
Generate regular reports and analyses on fundraising results, trends, engagement metrics, and opportunities for improvement. Utilizing donor data and analytics to track campaign performance and identify opportunities to inform strategic decision-making, increase retention, and maximize lifetime value.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including fundraising, communication, finance, and programmatic staff to integrate giving efforts with organizational activities and priorities.
Skills and Competencies:
Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Proficiency in CRM and donor database best practices
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of business implications of decisions and ability to align work with strategic goals.
Ability to represent both the programs and heart of Plan to external audiences
Ability to be flexible and empathetic while remaining focused on accountability and outcomes
Demonstrated passion for fundraising and genuine interest in the international relief and development world
Education and Experience
Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible fundraising experience, with a strong working knowledge of the principles and practices of annual giving fundraising.
Highly motivated self-starter who is resilient and resourceful with the ability to work independently as well as a part of a team.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Plan International USA offers a comprehensive total compensation package inclusive of health benefits, paid time off (PTO), sick leave, and retirement plan contributions. We take several factors into account when determining salary offers, including candidate qualifications and experience, and internal equity. The target range for this position is between $87,491 - $105,000 annually.
