Master Control Supervisor
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Master Control Supervisor to oversee operations across multiple television stations and monitor multiple radio station signals from a centralized master control facility. This role is critical in maintaining consistent, high-quality broadcast output and ensuring smooth coordination across departments and media platforms.
The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of broadcast automation, satellite operations, and signal monitoring, combined with excellent multitasking skills and the ability to lead a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise, schedule, and support master control operators to ensure uninterrupted 24/7 operation across multiple TV and radio stations.
Monitor and ensure the quality of outbound TV and radio signals, including video, audio, and metadata.
Manage playout automation systems, satellite feed acquisition, and server content ingestion.
Respond quickly to technical issues across stations to minimize on-air disruptions.
Maintain accurate broadcast logs and compliance with FCC regulations for both TV and radio operations.
Coordinate daily operations with traffic, engineering, news, and production departments across multiple properties.
Train staff on standard operating procedures, automation systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
Develop and update documentation related to system operations and workflow standards.
Qualifications:
3–5 years of experience in a broadcast master control environment, with supervisory experience preferred.
Hands-on experience with automation systems (e.g., Florical, Harmonic, Telestream) and satellite downlink systems.
Strong familiarity with radio signal monitoring tools and practices.
Exceptional multitasking and time-management skills; able to manage multiple stations simultaneously.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with departments throughout the station group.
Solid understanding of FCC regulations for both television and radio broadcasting.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a computer workstation and broadcast monitoring equipment.
Manual dexterity required to operate broadcast control panels, keyboards, and other technical systems with precision.
Visual ability (with or without correction) to monitor multiple video and audio streams and detect technical issues or signal irregularities.
Auditory ability (with or without aids) to monitor audio quality and detect anomalies across radio and television signals.
Occasional lifting and carrying of equipment or materials weighing up to 25 pounds (e.g., cables, drives, backup media).
Mobility to move within a technical operations environment, including access to equipment racks, consoles, and related systems.
Ability to work varied hours, including overnight, weekends, and holidays, in support of 24/7 broadcast operations.Benefits:
