Certis Biologicals is looking for a driven operations professional and experienced people manager to join its team as the Supply Chain Manager leading production planning, rough cut capacity planning, and material requirement/resource planning and shipping & receiving at the manufacturing site in Wasco, CA.
The Manager will also ensure implementation and optimization of effective supply planning processes which utilize the company’s ERP system (NetSuite), ensuring good communication methods are in place to update key stakeholders. The role will play a key part in the monthly S&OP process, which requires collaboration and analysis of relevant supply planning information and recommendations for effective decision making.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and manage 6+months rolling master production schedules for production and new product, ensuring comprehensive compliance with materials requirements for manufacturing. Incorporate in forecasts, backlogs, open orders, capacity constraints
Liaise with all relevant stakeholders and functions to ensure supply plan represents consensus view of future supply plans and actions.
Develop consistent, effective supply related reporting and KPIs to highlight issues and drive actions
Develop balanced Plant optimization schedules to ensure customer demands and factory utilization targets are achieved
Develop rough-cut capacity plans to analyze and negotiate resource requirements
Allow the supply plan to have a level of flexibility to allow for shifting priorities within defined time periods (frozen, slushy, liquid)
Prepare supply planning input into monthly S&OP cycle
Develop and implement process improvements to decrease overall costs and improve inventory management and supply chain efficiencies. (ABC analysis, warehouse organization, cycle count program etc.)
Resolve material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions
Calculate and manage safety stock parameters periodically to be in line with the reaction time of the market during periods of spike or dip in demand
Drive continuous improvement of material flow processes in support of procurement and manufacturing goals.
Own the plant data objects from a coordination perspective, of all setting which influence the planning and procurement of materials (planner/buyer SOP, lot sizing, safety stock, procurement parameters, etc.) that favor the optimum management of inventory and inventory position
Identify warehouse and logistics challenges and opportunities, leading projects to eliminate non-value-added waste and drive improved performance.
Evaluate and develop safety practices and procedures for risk assessment around shipping and receiving, overall material logistics in the plant.
Develop, manage, and archive SOP for all supply planning activities (ISO 9001)
Support business-wide initiatives, communications, and improvement projects as a core member of the supply chain organization
Lead and develop teams by elevating people and organizational capabilities through coaching, and mentoring talent.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations/Production Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field
5 or more years’ progressive experience in supply planning and procurement, preferably in a global manufacturing or biotech organization
At least 3 years’ supervisory or project leadership experience, with a demonstrated track record to lead, manage, and motivate team members through direct line management or influence
Fundamental understanding of supply chain, planning, and procurement processes within a manufacturing organization
Demonstrated success using and maintaining ERP/MRP systems, particularly NetSuite, and Master Data
Strong computer skills required including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
APICS CPIM or CSCP Designation preferred
Minimum 5 – 7 years in a solid manufacturing environment with an emphasis in supply/production planning.
