Homefull is a non-profit addressing the needs of people who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness or are formerly homeless. Our approach is addressing housing stability, food access, and increasing income in order to help stabilize people and prevent a return to homelessness. Our HMIS Data Entry Specialist directly impacts agency performance and data integrity/accuracy.
This person will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team, working closely alongside other administrative and program leadership team members, to accomplish the mission and vision of Homefull as well as ensure the agency performs at a high quality.
Summary of essential job functions
This position will be responsible for:
Entering data into HMIS primarily for the Dayton homeless shelter programs including but not limited to:
Shelter service transactions for bed nights;
Program entries/exits for Shelter stays;
Assisting with program entries/exits for other Homefull programs;
Annual assessment data as needed.
Checking data in HMIS for accuracy and correcting data as needed.
Conducting mock compliance reviews for assigned program areas to ensure HMIS client records are reaching all expected performance measures.
Reviewing APR data in HMIS ahead of report due dates and addressing non-compliance as needed and providing feedback on this data to agency leadership;
Providing reports to Finance, Compliance, Program Management, and other teams as needed for billing, reporting, and other tasks.
Being a resource and a leader in the organization by:
Representing the agency in a professional manner, showing dignity and respect to all tenant, clients, vendors, and partners;
Assisting with high quality programming for all Homefull programs;
Providing data and reports as needed to help agency leadership monitor outcomes of Housing and Services programs;
Assisting with other tasks as they relate to HMIS work in Homefull’s programs;
Communicating with partners as needed and helping to connect and coordinate among internal teams.
Other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the organization.
Minimum requirements
Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Knowledge of the homeless population required. Position is preferably filled by a promotion within the organization as it requires extensive knowledge of Homefull programs and operations.
Abilities required
Computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and strong attention to details.
