Join our dynamic team as a Lead Project Engineer based in Orlando, FL! In this role, you will be pivotal in driving engineering and project support for our A&S facility. You will work collaboratively with the Plant Manager, Plant Engineer, fellow engineers, technicians, and plant personnel to enhance productivity, ensure maintenance excellence, and develop innovative equipment and engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead both large and small-scale projects with minimal supervision.
Actively engage in maintenance excellence programs.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of our processes, products, and machinery.
Lead major capital projects, overseeing budget management, scheduling, status reporting, and ensuring performance aligns with design objectives.
Investigate and evaluate new technologies, advising on alternative equipment and process systems, which includes vendor evaluations.
Assist plant management in identifying skill gaps within the maintenance team and contribute to candidate testing and evaluation.
Dedicate necessary hours to achieve objectives, which may include weekends, extended hours, and travel.
Track project spending to ensure compliance with budget constraints.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (mechanical or plastics concentration) is required.
A minimum of five years of experience in plastics manufacturing, especially in injection molding and profile extrusion.
Hands-on experience in injection mold processing and troubleshooting is essential.
Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, CAD, and project management software.
Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, automation, and PLCs.
Previous project management experience is a plus.
