The Enterprise Software Architect will be responsible for owning and optimizing Astrolab’s full stack of business and operations engineering tools. This individual will lead the development, integration, implementation, and optimization roadmap for our tool stack, ensuring these systems meet operational demands and deliver high user satisfaction while working closely with IT, allowing for multiple avenues of support. The Architect will be accountable for system uptime, data integrity, performance, and seamless integrations across tools. The primary focuses will be on NetSuite, Violet Integration, Ion MES, and TeamCenter PLM.
*This is a temporary position for up to six months, depending on project timelines.
What you'll do:
Engineering Tool Ownership: Manage Astrolab's suite of business and operations engineering tools, focusing on the PLM, MES, and Violet, and drive tool stack integration and optimization to support engineering workflows and innovation
Roadmap and Development: Design and execute a strategic roadmap for engineering tool improvements, encompassing system upgrades, process automation, and scalability to meet the company’s future needs
System Reliability and User Satisfaction: Ensure high performance, data reliability, and up-time for all engineering tools, actively monitoring system health and collaborating with IT to resolve issues
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to gather requirements and translate them into practical, scalable solutions
Automation: Coordinate with SRE, dev ops, and engineering teams to automate engineering tool workflows, testing and release of tool upgrades, and integration testing of interfaces between tools
Integration Management: Oversee integrations with other critical systems, including 365, LMS, document control, and Atlassian products, to create a seamless data and workflow environment
Documentation: Appropriately document and diagram all systems including connectivity and interconnectivity for clarity, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance and management. Document all steps in functionality and system workflow to allow handoff of ongoing support, management, maintenance and troubleshooting
Compliance: Work directly with the IT department to review system function and connectivity allowing IT to oversee compliance and potential attack surface to maintain NIST 800-171 and 800-53 controls and risk assessments
Unattended Monitoring and Alerting: Work with IT to determine workflows and critical workloads and communications to pinpoint areas that can be monitored to alert for system or communication failures in real-time
What you'll bring:
Bachelor’s degree in STEM field (science, technology, mathematics or engineering)
3+ years of software implementation experience on a large scale/enterprise level project
3+ years experience with SSO (SAML/OIDC) and SaaS integrations
Deep knowledge of ERP (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Salesforce)
Familiarity with Atlassian products, 365, and MES.
Experience with PLM and associated integrations and security.
Strong understanding of engineering workflows, data management, and tool architecture.
Excellent communication and project management skills.
