Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)
SHIFT: Full-Time
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The ADON is responsible for monitoring nursing staff, nursing activities, and patient care, as well as ensuring nursing activities comply with federal, state, and local standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing department, following current rules, regulations, and guidelines
Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating our written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the department
Act as a team member, team leader, and supervisor to ensure work is accomplished and quality care is delivered
Support team members and leaders in a way that celebrates and encourages hard work and success
Ensure that all nursing personnel are following their respective job descriptions
Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc.
Help determine staffing needs
Provide direct nursing care as necessary
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of one-year experience in nursing service administration required
Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse in the state of New York required
Education or experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing is preferred
Must be able to demonstrate age-specific knowledge of developmental factors for adult and geriatric residents
Demonstrate effective communication skills, problem-solving, and conflict resolution
Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable
Strong customer service skills and compassion
