LA Semiconductor is currently seeking a Senior Design Library Engineer to help facilitate customer designs in LA Semiconductor processes. The successful candidate will help develop DRC and LVS software to help validate customer designs. As a Design Library Engineer, you will have a high level of contribution into setting up design methodologies for LAS. LA Semiconductor has an 8 Silicon fab in Pocatello, Idaho.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop DRC decks for internal Silicon processes.
Develop LVS decks for layout validation.
Build software and workflow tools to enable customer designs.
Develop and maintain DRC regression layouts.
Use software to automate the design process using a first-time-right mentality.
Work with customers to understand their design challenges and propose solutions.
Work with Technology Development and Production teams to ensure designs are compatible with LAS technologies.
Document workflows and newly developed tools and how they fit into the design process.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong understanding of the semiconductor design process, including a broad understanding of different design methodologies.
Proficient with CAD software packages (Cadence and Calibre preferred).
Experience with polygon DRC and device-specific DRC methods.
Strong technical knowledge in circuit design and EDA tools.
Software coding experience in Python or other scripting language.
Experience with design verification tools.
Strong technical knowledge in semiconductor device physics.
Strong collaboration skills; promotes good teamwork among internal and external resources.
Good communication and presentation skills.
Preferred:
Experience with ESD design elements.
Experience working with modelling teams.
Experience working with design teams.
Knowledge of semiconductor fabrication processes.
Education and Experience:
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or related field.
5+ years of related experience with at least 3+ years of design, library, or PDK experience.
