In this strategic role the Manager, Business Development is tasked with leading the business development team with the focus on ultimately selling Datex’s pioneering WMS SaaS platform. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and is passionate about building scalable sales development processes, mentoring talent, and driving pipeline growth.

Essential Job Functions
Lead and manage the business development team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, partnerships, and market research.
Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and customer success teams to align go-to-market strategies.
Monitor KPIs and pipeline metrics to ensure consistent performance and growth.
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Extensive experience with building dashboards to track activity, response rates, meeting quality, and opportunity conversion.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding pipeline growth targets.
Must be flexible in work hours and able to travel up to 15% of time.
Core Business Development Skills:
Lead Generation & Prospecting: Ability to identify and qualify new business opportunities.
Sales Strategy Development: Experience in creating and executing go-to-market strategies.
CRM Proficiency: Skilled in tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, or Pipedrive for pipeline management.
Negotiation & Closing: Strong deal-closing skills and experience with contract negotiation.
Proactively drives close alignment and collaboration with marketing.
Build closed-loop reporting to track lead quality, conversion rates, and ROI of campaigns.
Support the creation of lead scoring and attribution models.
Leadership & Team Management:
Team Building: Experience recruiting, mentoring, and scaling business development teams.
Performance Management: Ability to set KPIs, track performance, and coach team members.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Works well with marketing, product, and customer success teams.
Industry & Technical Acumen:
SaaS Sales Experience: Understanding SaaS metrics (CAC, LTV, Churn, etc.) and sales cycles.
WMS / Supply Chain Knowledge: Familiarity with logistics, warehouse management, inventory management and ERP integration is a big plus.
Experience with Account-Based Marketing (ABM) strategies.
Familiarity with AI Agents and automation tools for Sales and Business Development.

Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred.
Will potentially consider experience and provable success in Biz Dev leadership in lieu of degree.
Experience
Experience in the warehouse management or supply chain industry is important.
5-7 years’ experience in biz dev or sales, preferably in B2B SaaS or logistics/warehouse tech.
2-3 years’ of experience in a leadership or managerial role directly related to biz dev.
Strong understanding of CRM and demand sensing tools (e.g., HubSpot, MS Dynamics, 6sense).

Compensation
Base compensation: $100k to $130k. Additional variable compensation (OTE) will be discussed.
