Position Summary
The primary objective of this role is to manage and improve financial accuracy and accountability across revenue, expenses, payroll, and reporting systemsensuring all transactions are properly classified in QuickBooks and identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Reconcile all grants and donations in QuickBooks, ensuring accurate entry and Class assignment
Reclass income and expenses recorded under NOT SPECIFIED or Miscellaneous categories
Review and properly allocate payroll and payroll taxes to appropriate Program Classes
Analyze key expense areas (e.g., Amazon, Zoom, rug cleaning, internet) for potential cost savings
Evaluate expense classifications such as meals, utilities, consulting, events, and supplies
Assess payroll process and costs; explore savings or adjustments in how staff are paid (hourly vs. salary)
Review employee benefit contributions (dental, vision) for savings opportunities
Set up and manage Classes in QuickBooks for all rental and vacant properties
Consolidate duplicate Classes and improve class structure for clarity and efficiency
Train or assess current accountants ability to record transactions accurately and timely; recommend changes if needed
Qualifications
Experience with nonprofit accounting and QuickBooks preferred
Knowledge of class-based accounting and restricted funding preferred
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Ability to train and manage accounting support staff
Hourly Rate: $55-$68/hour
Work Environment: 3-week initial training period in Mansfield, OH then hybrid or remote for the length of the project (3-6 months, 40 hours/week)
