Vice President of Finance & AccountingCompany Summary
Vulcan Industries, a national leader in the manufacture of retail displays and fixtures is looking for a new Vice President of Finance & Accounting to join its collaborative management team. The VP serves as the lead financial strategy and analytical resource for the business and provides strategic insight and input to growth and acquisition initiatives. Headquartered in Moody, Alabama, Vulcan’s capabilities include -house design, product development engineering, domestic/import production, and tailored logistics, to meet any client need.
Key responsibilities of VP of Finance & Accounting
Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Coordination and collaboration with our Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions team with a focus on growth.
Supervise all accounting staff to assure accurate and timely reporting and recording of financial data
Ensure Vulcan Industries adheres to all company and regulatory requirements.
Oversee internal IT staff and IT outsource providers to maintain acceptable service levels.
Lead internal accounting, budgeting, analytics, and financial reporting with managerial responsibilities.Basic qualifications
BS in Accounting
5+ years of accounting experience.
8 + years of budgeting and financial analysis experience
Proficiency in Microsoft products with advanced Excel skills
At least 3 years or more experience with mid-market ERP software as a user or power user
Experience in a direct manufacturing, job costing business
preferred skills
Certified Public Accountant status
Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with business acumen.
3 years or more experience as a Vice President or Controller
MBA or MAC
Experience with Global Shop Solutions Software or comparable mid-market ERP
Training or experience in continuous improvement or LEAN
Experience with MS Access databases
Ability to perform at a strategic level as well as perform detailed root cause analysis.
Ability to multi-task, set team priorities, and meet strict deadlines.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
Develop procedures, schedules, and expedited workflows
