1st Shift Controls Technician, Grand Rapids

$32-39/hour Job Description

As a Controls Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting production processes and ensuring the continuous operation of equipment. You will be responsible for editing PLC programs and working with cameras, sensors, vision systems, and end-of-arm tooling for pick-and-place operations. Experience with ABB and Fanuc robotics is a plus, and a background in plastics is ideal.

Edit PLC programs using Allen-Bradley and Omron platforms.

Work with cameras, sensors, and vision systems.

Manage end-of-arm tooling for pick-and-place operations.

Troubleshoot and maintain automation and robotic systems.

Ensure continuous operation of equipment in a production environment.Essential Skills

Proficiency in PLC editing.

Experience with HMI systems.

Knowledge of vision systems, including cameras, sensors, and lasers.

Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems.

Strong understanding of automation and robotics.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with ABB and Fanuc robotics is a plus.

Background in plastics manufacturing is ideal.

Work Environment

The role operates within a plastic injection and blow molding facility, producing automotive parts. You will work a rotating 1st shift schedule from 6 AM to 6 PM, with a pattern of 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, and 3 days off, including every other weekend. The facility houses 54 machines, providing a hands-on experience with advanced production technology.

This is a Permanent position based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $81120.00/yr.
