Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

The material handler will perform shipping, receiving, and inventory control duties in the warehouse.

Responsibilities

Prepares documents, instructions, and other required documentation to coordinate shipping and freighting of pumps, cartridges, and materials.

Packs and prepares company products and other materials for shipping in accordance with customer requests.

Maintains records of orders shipped, documenting weights and shipping charges.

Ensures documentation complies with governmental and regulatory agencies requirements.

Schedules and coordinates shipment deadlines with Customer Service to ensure shipments and freights arrive at the appropriate destination within determined timeline.

Maintains computerized shipping systems, 100 lb. scale, 300 lb. hand truck, pallet jack, bubble pack dispenser, and bander.

Receives incoming materials, services, and supplies by unpacking and checking goods received against purchase orders or invoices.

Maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items.

Transfers approved materials into their proper stockroom locations or delivers packages to internal customers.

Coordinates incoming shipments of goods authorized for return with employees in Customer Service, Quality Control, and Quality Assurance.

Receives product from quarantine and production into finished goods, verifies accuracy against shop order or sterile processing log and reports discrepancies to the supervisor.

Examines stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.

Performs daily cycle count and ensures 100% accuracy of all finished goods inventory.

Performs daily inventory data transactions.

Provides feedback to inventory inquiries.Essential Skills

Minimum of 2 years shipping and receiving experience with material handling in a manufacturing environment.

Experience with data entry using ERP systems.

Experience in an FDA regulated environment.

Proficiency in using pallet jacks, forklifts, dollies, and automated shipping equipment such as the FedEx café.

Good oral and written communication skills.

Basic math skills.

Good interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated word processing and data entry skills.

Familiarity with GMP environment.

Ability to obtain and maintain Forklift Certification in good standing.

Ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory CA driving record.

Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma required.

The work environment requires steel-toed boots and a casual dress code where pants are necessary. Communication primarily occurs through emails, with the expectation of timely responses while at work. Shifts are scheduled from Friday to Monday, 4 AM - 2:30 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
