Volt is immediately hiring for Hollow Metal Door Fabricator in Austin, TX.
As a Hollow Metal Door Fabricator, you will:
Operate power tools, such as cutting wheels, grinders, power drivers, and saws.
Finish door surfaces, including grinding, applying bondo or primer as needed.
Mark doors and place them in delivery or will call staging areas.
Read and understand prep templates and gather appropriate materials for the build.
Accurately place preps using measurements (hinges, lock preps, flush bolts, mortise pockets with function holes, light and louver cutouts, and width and height cuts).
Complete work assignments by deadlines.
Stock materials in correct bins and issue inventory adjustment sheets as necessary.
Keep work area and warehouse clean and organized.
Perform other duties as assigned.This is a full-time opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have:
Courteous, personable, alert, and good communication skills.
MUST pass a ruler test to 1/16th of an inch
Thorough knowledge of production requirements for door preps.
Ability to read and understand templates and product blueprints.
Basic math skills: multiply, add, subtract.
Physical ability to lift 75-100 lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
Punctuality and excellent attendance.
Familiarity with handheld scanners for managing inventory.
Ability to operate a sit-down forklift.Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate’s education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
