Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating packaging lines. You will start the machines, observe their operation, and stop them to notify maintenance or a supervisor in case of malfunctions. Performing quality checks on products and inspecting them for correct packaging is crucial, while ensuring compliance with FDA, DEA, and OSHA regulations. You will also be tasked with timely and accurate documentation and adhering to GMP guidelines.

Responsibilities

Set up, adjust, and operate packaging lines.

Start machines and observe their operation.

Stop machines and notify maintenance or supervisor for malfunctions.

Perform quality checks on products.

Inspect products for correct packaging.

Comply with FDA, DEA, and OSHA regulations.

Ensure timely and accurate documentation.

Follow GMP guidelines.

Solve operational problems.

Operate PLC control panels on machines.

Conduct data entry using computers.

Lift 50+ lbs as required.

Weigh and inspect final products.

Document materials as they come off the line.

Write neatly for report handling.

Fill out FDA required paperwork.

Pass a basic math test for counting tasks.

Maintain good hygiene in a clean room environment.

Conduct burst quality checks on packaging.Essential Skills

Experience operating PLC control panels.

Proficient computer skills.

Ability to lift 50+ lbs.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Neat writing for report handling.

High School Diploma.

Previous experience in a manufacturing facility.

1+ years of machine operator experience.

Ability to enter data into a computer.

Work Environment

You will work in a clean room environment where wearing hair nets, gloves, and lab coats is mandatory. The facility is a manufacturer and distributor of controlled substances, regulated by the FDA and DEA. Work hours are from 4 PM to 12:30 AM, Monday to Friday, with every other Saturday required. Be prepared to work overtime when needed. Bring an extra pair of shoes for clean room work.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portage, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
