The School of Humanities and Fine Arts of Lakeland University is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor or Visiting Professor of Spanish.
The successful candidate will be able to teach a range of Spanish language courses, advise undergraduate students, develop curriculum for the Spanish program, and teach within Lakeland's interdisciplinary core.
Start date of August 23, 2021.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Teach introductory, intermediate, and advanced Spanish language courses.
Guide curricular revision for the Spanish program.
Teach courses within the interdisciplinary core, and support the university's general education program.
Advise Spanish majors and minors and first year students.
Oversee the development and assessment of the Spanish curriculum.
Teach in both traditional and hybrid learning environments.
Promote the Spanish program to prospective students and to employers.
Hold regular office hours on a weekly basis.
Respond in a timely manner to calls or emails from students, colleagues, or supervisors.
Use university technology as directed.
SPECIALIZED KNOW-HOW SKILLS Ph.D.
in Spanish or related field required for tenure-track.
M.A.
in Spanish or related field accepted for visiting rank.
Native or near-native fluency in Spanish.
Teaching experience in higher education preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
No or very limited physical effort required.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
