What We Seek:

The Accountant supports the accounting and finance functions of Raben through maintaining financial records, preparing client billing and participating in collection activities, reconciling balance sheet accounts including but not limited to cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and prepaids., analyzing financial data. and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. The Accountant also ensures compliance with Raben policies and regulatory requirements by providing accurate and timely financial information to support the decision-making of the Director of Finance and the COO. This position is located in our DC office and follows a hybrid schedule with at least two days per week in the office.

Responsibilities:

Manage and operate the day-to-day accounting functions of Raben including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger.

Prepare invoices for client accounts, initiate and execute the collections process for delinquent accounts.

Manage accounts processing review and verification, approval of bills, record keeping and reconciliation.

Manage the contract administration process of fully executed contracts and engages clients for purchase orders.

Serve as a resource for the Finance Coordinator and provide direction or feedback on deliverables.

Approve and exports expense reports monthly and bills clients for relevant expenses.

Produce financial reports including deposit logs, biennial report filing (Raben), census reports, fundraising counsel registration, etc.

Assists with payroll management, as needed.

Requirements

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

5+ years of accounting experience.

Proficient knowledge of financial reporting requirements.

Proficiency in accounting software, preferably Bill.com QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Salary Range and Benefits: Our annual salary for this role is $70,000- $75,000 commensurate with experience and locality.
