The San Diego Unified School District currently has the following full-time (40 hours per week), 10-month Administrative Assistant I position available.

NOTE: This recruitment will be used to establish an Eligibility List for the current Administrative Assistant I vacancy shown below as well as any future vacancies. This list will be active for six (6) months with the possibility to be extended.

Position Schedule (for any future vacancies):

Positions in this classification typically work 10 months of the year.

Set schedules for positions in this classification might vary but are typically full-time, 40 hours per week.

This opportunity is open only to candidates that have been PRE-QUALIFIED for the Administrative Assistant I position. Pre-qualified candidates are individuals that have applied for the Administrative Assistant I - Pre-qualified Pool and have successfully passed the requirements/exam process. This is a promotional/open opportunity, which means that current monthly-salaried employees receive precedence over other candidates on the eligible list.

For a promotional/open posting, the top ten internal applicants will be provided unless there is an insufficient number and then the list will be supplemented with the top external applicants to make up the ten (Employment Regulations for the Classified Service of the San Diego Unified School District: Article 2, Section 9).The Administrative Assistant I will be paid on the OTBS Salary Schedule. BASIC FUNCTION:

Relieve the workload of a manager by performing responsible administrative and staff duties; lead the work of assigned classified staff.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to graduation from a recognized four-year college or university with a degree in business or public administration and one year of recent, related experience.
