JOB SUMMARY

The Drafter will be responsible for creating Millwork/Casework shop drawings based on architectural/design drawings and blueprints, using Microvellum and/or AutoCAD. Strong teamwork is essential as collaboration with the Estimating Department, Project Managers, and the Custom Millwork Department will be required as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Draft shop drawings using Microvellum, AutoCAD and create 3D models if required

Produce drawings and models from both written and verbal instructions provided by the Drafting/Engineering manager, based on Architectural/Design drawings and blueprints.

Prepare documents and shop drawings for submittal

Perform additional tasks as required

Collaborate with engineers and other drafters to address discrepancies in drawings and designs

Update and maintain documentation such as checklists, drawing lists, drawing requests, and project tracking. These documents will primarily be managed in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Smartsheet.

Review all work for accuracy before submitting it to the Drafting/Engineering Manager, supervisor or assigned reviewer.

Complete drawings accurately and efficiently.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changes in work assignments as project needs evolve

Demonstrate attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality

Inspect drafting/engineering drawings for compliance with industry standards

Ensure projects are completed within scope, budget, and schedule.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines, policies and procedures, and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Diploma or certificate in Drafting Technology or CAD (preferred)

Experience with Microvellum (preferred)

Cabinet Vision experience (preferred, but not required).

Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in cabinetry hardware/millwork building.

Proficient in Standard 2D and 3D AutoCAD (version 2022 or higher).

Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Design and engineering skills (preferred, but not required).

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels

Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills

Knowledge of custom cabinetry construction and current hardware applications within the industry

Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and convert them into workable shop drawings (e.g., for cabinets, reception desks, conference tables, wall paneling, etc.).
