Description
Under general supervision is responsible for maintaining the records system for the Sheriff’s Office; performs related duties as required.
Duties
Answers phones;
Fingerprints civilians for employment, notary, etc.
Schedules appointments and performs vacation checks;
Prints, logs, and files reports taken by deputies;
Conducts follow-ups on reports;
Records information using various computer databases such as the Records Management System, spreadsheets, MUNIS, CAD, etc.;
Processes requests for reports and information from the public both in person and over the telephone;
Communicates with other government agencies and offices to verify confidential information and to respond to notifications and inquires;
Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED.

Working Conditions:
Works in a normal office environment where there is no discomfort regarding temperature, noise, dust, etc.

Considerable working knowledge of the Microsoft office programs; general knowledge of standard office and administrative procedures and methods; general knowledge of English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to match names and numbers quickly and accurately; ability to maintain highly confidential information with integrity and discretion; ability to follow established procedures; ability to operate a computer and associated software; ability to deal effectively with the public; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships; ability to gather, sort, and classify information; strong problem solving, time management, and organizational skills; excellent customer service and computer skills.
