The Intake Assessment Technician is responsible for assisting in the process of receiving, scheduling and/or referring inquiry calls. Assist the A&R Clinicians, Coordinators and Director with coordinating assessments, initiating Intake paperwork and insurance information. Work to ensure smooth transition into the admission process. Assist in monitoring to assure the safety of the patient.

The Intake Assessment Technician will be responsible for:

Receiving referral calls, obtaining minimal demographic information, and referring the call to the appropriate source or scheduling an assessment.

Process all requests for information and external referrals.

Completes pre-certifications as needed.

Assist in arranging for admission of patients, including alerting the business office staff to begin the verification of benefits, initiating calls to physicians and other related tasks as directed by the Case Manager.

Determine what Releases of Information are needed, and process them accordingly, per policy.

Assist in obtaining needed records and information.

Assist in maintaining all statistics; provide support to the Outcome Study, and other data, as assigned.

Maintains good communication with the Utilization Review, Business Office, and other staff as indicated.

Maintains log of received calls and disposition of the calls, and other informational tools as assigned.

Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers, practicing good standard of customer service.

Your Experience Matters What we’re looking for:

Education & Licensure: Bachelors’ degree preferred. Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state.

Experience: One year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.

Additional Requirements: May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.

Compensation:
