Assistant Directorof Transfer Admissions and Credit Evaluation

Transylvania University, a private liberal arts college, invites applications for its next Assistant Director of Transfer Admissions and Credit Evaluation. Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Assistant Director of Transfer Admissions and Credit Evaluation is a key member of the Admissions team, responsible for overseeing transfer student recruitment and evaluating transfer and advanced-standing credit. This role supports prospective students through the full admissions cycle —recruitment, application support, credit evaluation, and enrollment—while collaborating closely with departments across campus to ensure an efficient and welcoming experience.

Essential Duties

Transfer Recruitment and Enrollment Strategy

Collaborate with the Director of Admissions to develop and manage strategic initiatives to recruit and enroll transfer students.

Proactively identify opportunities for transfer growth, including expanding community college partnerships and optimizing recruitment outreach.

Work to ensure a seamless and high-touch experience for prospective transfer students throughout the recruitment and enrollment process.

Student Advising and Communication

Serve as the primary contact for prospective transfer students, advising them via in-person, appointments phone, text, and email.

Provide clear, accurate information about admissions requirements, deadlines, application requirements, and transfer-specific processes.

Guide students through submitting official transcripts from all institutions attended, standardized test scores (if applicable), and other required documentation.

Credit Evaluation and Academic Record Review

Review, interpret, and evaluate academic transcripts to determine credit transferability and alignment with Transylvania degree programs.

Understands transfer credit articulation and required prerequisite course information.

Process and verify transfer and advanced standing credits in the institutional student information system.

Ensure evaluations meet academic standards and graduation requirements.

Recommend improvements to processes using available technologies.

Collaboration and Campus Partnerships

Coordinate with internal departments such as Athletics, the Registrar, Financial Aid, and academic departments to facilitate timely application review and credit evaluation.

Serve as the subject matter expert on transfer and credit evaluation policies and help educate campus stakeholders.

Support cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving the transfer student experience and operational efficiency.

Outreach and Representation

Responsible for ensuring all partnerships, processes, and initiatives comply with the university, state and federal regulations.

Represent Transylvania University at a variety of recruitment events, including open houses, transfer fairs, counselor information sessions, and student orientation programs.

Deliver compelling presentations on the admissions and transfer process to small and large groups, both on- and off-campus, including community colleges.

Serves as a professional ambassador for the University at recruitment events and strategic enrollment engagements.

Secondary Duties:

Assist with general admissions responsibilities as needed

Perform duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions
