NDDOT Hiring Salary: $7,243 / month
At the North Dakota Department of Transportation, we owe our success to our Team and processes. As a Transportation Engineer III at our DOT Support Center (DOTSC), you will prepare engineering/environmental reports, project plans for roadway construction, and prepare students for employment in the workforce by training and mentoring students at DOTSC at NDSU. You will introduce students to many aspects of Transportation, Engineering, and the NDDOT and its many functions. The ideal person for this position will be a problem solver who enjoys working with a team and has excellent communication skills and attention to detail. You will recruit students at NDSU through outreach via career fairs, classes, student organizations, and collaboration with the CCEE Department. This position may assist with tasks related to supervision and management of the Section. Primary duties associated with this position are as follows:
Recruit, Evaluate, Hire, and Develop Student Design Assistants: Assist in fulfilling the partnership between Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute, NDSU, and the NDDOT by preparing students for employment in the workforce.
Prepare Preliminary Engineering/Environmental Reports: These reports use engineering analysis to evaluate the required work for projects and environmentally clear projects.
Prepare Project Plan Sets: Plans are engineering drawings needed for bidding, construction, and record keeping.
Provide Project Management & Coordination: Sequencing and coordination of activities or tasks becomes paramount when delivering a project on schedule.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction, or construction management from an ABET accredited school, and
Four years of professional-level engineering work experience, and
Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam as specified by the Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, and
Requires a class D driver’s license for travel to visit bridges to scope projects.
Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent on satisfactorily completing the interview process and reference check.
