Job Description

International importer/distributor of food products seeks a Controller to lead their Accounting and Finance team. Responsible for staff oversight of 5, preparation, review and analysis of Financial Statements, leading the budget/forecast process, interact with outside auditors/tax preparers/factor, work with plant management to finalize plant financial statements as a step in preparing consolidated financial statements. Candidates for this role should have 15+ years of experience handling the above duties, prior managerial experience, VERY strong Excel skills and a great attitude • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.

• At least 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership or Controller role.

• Proven experience managing accounting operations in organizations with $75MM–$100MM in revenue, preferably in a privately held or entrepreneurial setting.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of accounting professionals, with at least 3 direct reports.

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and compliance requirements.

• Proficiency in accounting systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise, or similar platforms, along with advanced Excel skills.

• Familiarity with budgeting, auditing, and financial analysis processes.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
