We are looking for a meticulous and skilled Estimator to join our team in Collierville, Tennessee. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in analyzing project costs, preparing estimates, and ensuring financial accuracy for construction projects. This position requires a strong background in cost accounting and a thorough understanding of construction industry practices.
Responsibilities:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of commercial construction projects. This role is critical to our project planning and bidding process and requires a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and market pricing.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns for all scopes of work.
Collaborate with project managers and field staff to ensure estimates align with actual construction practices.
Maintain and update a database of unit costs, subcontractor pricing, and historical project data.
Assist in value engineering and cost-saving strategies.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as needed.
Track and manage bid schedules and deadlines.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in commercial or industrial sectors.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, particularly in commercial or industrial projects.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems such as ADP, Epicor, and ERP platforms.
• Strong knowledge of accounting functions, including accounts payable, budgeting processes, and auditing.
• Experience with tools like Crystal Reports for data analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with cash activity and financial reconciliation processes.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to optimize project costs and workflows.
