Key Responsibilities
Estimating and Preconstruction
Identify, review, and pursue new bid opportunities.
Conduct thorough site visits to assess project conditions and requirements.
Accurately estimate project costs including labour, equipment, materials, and timelines.
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to determine project scope.
Perform detailed takeoffs for quantities, areas, volumes, and proportions.
Develop competitive bids and ensure all bid documentation is complete and submitted on time.
Coordinate closely with management to refine bid strategies and evaluate feasibility.
Vendor & Cost Management
Solicit and review vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure pricing accuracy and value.
Negotiate pricing and evaluate supplier proposals for cost efficiency.
Maintain and update cost databases, unit pricing, and historical cost records.
Technical & Administrative
Use estimating software, spreadsheets, and scheduling tools to support cost proposals.
Collaborate with internal teams to align estimates with company capabilities and goals.
Prepare bid summaries and support presentations as needed.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Proven experience in construction estimating, preferably in heavy civil or commercial construction.
Familiarity with construction practices, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and time-management abilities.
Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
Certifications
Valid Texas Driver's License with a clean record required.

Work Schedule
8 - hour shift.
Full-time, Monday to Friday.
Some travel required for site visits, pre-bid meetings, and job walks.
Based in Houston, TX with occasional travel to regional sites
